Tip-A-Player at Smack Pie Pizza

Stockton Heat players Mark Jankowski, Ryan Culkin, Tyler Wotherspoon, Hunter Smith, Emile Poirier, Austin Carroll, Daniel Pribyl, Tom McCollum, and Ryan Lomberg made some pizzas, signed autographs, and visited with customers at Smack Pie Pizza on February 15th!  All of the tips collected by the players will be donated to American Cancer Society!

Upward Sports

Frankie the Firebird stopped by Upward Sports in Lodi to cheer on the basketball teams and get the crowd pumped up!  Frankie and Stockton Heat representatives hosted a half-time game where people in the crowd had an opportunity to shoot a puck across the court for a chance to win free Heat tickets.

Claudia Landeen Elementary School

Stockton Heat players Hunter Shinkaruk and Keith Aulie visited the students at Claudia Landeen here in Stockton, CA! They got the students pumped up for their school fundraiser with the Heat and talked to them about the importance of health, fitness, and education. They then stopped by a second grade class to read a book to the kids and surprised them with a new Heat pencil!

Blaker-Kinser Junior High School

Stockton Heat players Mark Jankowski and Ryan Culkin stopped by a few classes and the after-school program at Blaker Kinser in Ceres, CA.  They got the students pumped up for their school fundraiser with the Heat at an upcoming game!  They passed out some Heat backpacks, talked to the students, and Jankowski even signed a forehead!

McCaffrey Middle School

Frankie the Firebird visited McCaffrey Middle School during lunch and got the students pumped up for their school fundraiser with the Heat at an upcoming game!  Frankie took some pictures, visited a class, and led a ‘Go Heat Go!’ chant!

Safe Kids San Joaquin

On January 31, the Stockton Heat hosted the monthly Safe Kids San Joaquin meeting at the Stockton Arena.  During the meeting we discussed safety topics and ways we can improve and promote public safety.  Corporate Partnership Account Executive, Mark Hicks, presented during the meeting to share how the Stockton Heat is raising awareness by hosting a safety fair and attempting to break the world record for most safety vests worn at our Safety Night game!

Sacred Heart Catholic School

Frankie the Firebird visited Sacred Heart and got the crowd pumped up for their school fundraiser with the Heat at an upcoming game!  Frankie taught the kids some hockey skills and let a couple of students try to score a goal on him.

St. Joseph’s Fun Run 2017

Frankie the Firebird joined in on the fun with Mayor Michael Tubbs and participants at the St. Joseph’s Fun Run on January 28th. Frankie led some pre-run stretches and cheered on the participants as they started their 5k.

Teddy Bear Toss Wrap-Up Party

Heat players and staff visited the United Way of San Joaquin County on Tuesday, January 24 to not only count the stuffed animals, but also to see them off to their great new homes. Children from one.TLC school in Stockton came to select their new bear buddies, and were surprised when Mike Angelidis, Matt Frattin, Linden Vey, and Matt Bailey jumped out of the pile of plush! 9,502 stuffed animals were collected – a new Stockton hockey record!

Tri Valley Mites Practice Appearance

On January 18 and 19, Heat players Mark Jankowski, Emile Poirier, Morgan Klimchuk, Austin Carroll, Keegan Kanzig, and Kayle Doetzel, along with Coach Ryan Huska and Coach Domenic Pittis, helped coach the Tri Valley Mites.  The coaches and players got to work with multiple groups throughout the two days, helping the young teams with their skills and game.

City of Stockton Animal Shelter

Stockton Heat players, Morgan Klimchuk, Hunter Smith, Austin Carroll, and Kenney Morrison made some new fury friends at the Stockton Animal Shelter.  They got to pass out some treats, play with the dogs in the play yard, and name the newest dogs staying at the shelter!

Cleveland Elementary School Appearance

Stockton Heat players Mark Jankowski and Brett Kulak visited Cleveland Elementary School in Stockton. They got the crowd pumped up for their school fundraiser with the Heat at an upcoming game!  They answered the kids’ questions and the school sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Brett Kulak!

Modesto On Ice

Frankie the Firebird along with Heat players Keegan Kanzig and Ryan Lomberg skated with fans at the outdoor ice rink in Downtown Modesto.  Frankie joined the other mascots at Modesto On Ice for their mascot night. Kanzig and Lomberg also did a mini demonstration for the skaters and taught kids how to pass a puck!

Howard Training Center

On January 3, Frankie the Firebird and Heat players Andrew Mangiapane and Kayle Doetzel , stopped by to say hello to staff and guests at the Howard Training Center.  They also prepared some meals for the Meals On Wheels program.  The Meals On Wheels program serves 20,000 meals a month to seniors in the Stanislaus County.

Angel Tree Toy Drive

On Thursday, December 15, Frankie the Firebird, ABC10 and the Salvation Army teamed up to load trucks full of toys that will be distributed to children in the Sacramento area.

Craft Night at Crowell Elementary School

Frankie the Firebird visited Crowell Elementary School in Turlock for their Craft Night.  Frankie made some new friends, showed off his awesome dance moves, and did some fun holiday crafts with the kids to get in the holiday spirit!

Lodi Parade of Lights 2016

Stockton Heat teamed with 105.9 The Bull and participated in the Lodi Parade of Lights on Thursday, December 1st.  Frankie the Firebird and Stockton Heat players Austin Carroll, Morgan Klimchuk, Hunter Smith, and Keegan Kanzig got to ride on the back of a military truck through Downtown Lodi.

Emergency Food Bank Turkey Giveaway

Frankie the Firebird joined the Stockton Emergency Foodbank during Monday morning to pass out box Thanksgiving dinners!  Frankie worked with all of the volunteers to put the boxes together, and hand out the turkeys, wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Agnes Baptist School Appearance

Stockton Heat players Tyler Wotherspoon and Hunter Smith visited an elementary school in Modesto this past week.  They got the crowd pumped up for their school fundraiser with the Heat at an upcoming game!  They passed out some photo cards, capes, and a couple jerseys to those who raised a lot of money for their school.

Holiday Open House at Lincoln Center

 Frankie the Firebird attended the Holiday Open House at Lincoln Center and passed out hot apple cider.  He also got to pet and feed the reindeer, visit Santa, and did some holiday shopping.

Walk To School Day

 San Joaquin County Public Health Promotions teamed up with a local elementary school to do a Walk To School Day.  The event is to promote the pedestrian safety, helping to create safe environments for children to have the opportunity to walk to school,  benefits walking, physical activity and community.  Frankie the Firebird was waiting for the students and cheering them on as they completed their walk and headed to class.

St. Joseph’s Visit

Heat players Mike Angelidis and Jamie Devane visited patients and staff at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center on November 2nd.  They stopped by the main lobby to greet people, take pictures, and sign autographs. Angelidis and Devane also stopped by pediatrics to visit with the kids, and handout toys and books.

Over the Edge

Frankie visited Community Hospice at their first annual Over the Edge event in Downtown Stockton.  Over the Edge is a unique fundraising challenge and a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Frankie watched and cheered on the participants that were rappelling down the side of Stockton Medico-Dental Tower and entering the Drop Zone Festival.

Chick-Fil-A Pre-Opening Banquet

Frankie the Firebird attended the pre-opening banquet celebration for the new Chick-Fil-A in Stockton!  Frankie made a new friend, the Chick-Fil-A cow.  They enjoyed greeting employees, taking pictures, and welcoming a new business to the Stockton community!

Walk To End Alzheimer’s

On October 15th, Frankie joined Alzheimer’s Association supporters at the Walk To End Alzheimer’s! The walk took place in Victory Park in Stockton, CA.  Frankie cheered on participants as they were sent off and even did the hula dance as a warm-up with the crowd!
