POSITION: COMMUNITY RELATIONS UNPAID STUDENT INTERN

The Stockton Heat is seeking a Community Relations Intern for the 2019/20 season, This is a full-season opportunity for you to expand your knowledge in a professional sports setting while networking with others In a similar field. Community Relations interns assist current employees with essential part in the day-to-day activities of the Community Relations Department both on game days and during the regular work week, This internship is primarily offered for college credit, but can also be offered to recent graduates looking for experience in the Community Relations field. Among other learning objectives, this internship includes practical experience in the corporate sales and services field. There will be educational training regarding sales, customer service, Industry best practices, and operational aspects of a professional athletic organization. This is NON-PAID internship, A successful completion of the internship does not guarantee a subsequent paid employment opportunity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist In executing signature fundraising in-game events such as Silent Auctions, puck sales, and more
- Assist in the set-up and break-down of concourse tables on game night
- Assist with managing Frankie’s Friends table on game nights
- Assist in serving as in-game liaison between Community Relations Coordinator and concourse tables on game nights alongside current employees
- Provide excellent customer service and answer questions for fans as needed
- Assist with Kids Club member fulfillment, including but not limited to processing payments, managing online and in-game sign-ups, assembling Kids Club packets, and staffing Kids Club events
- Assist current employees with Kid’s Club mailings, donation mailings, and school program oversight
- Assist with Donation Request fulfillment, including but not limited to writing letters, mailing donations, and making sure donation records are up-to-date
- Attend networking mixers, mascot and/or player appearances around the Stockton community as needed alongside current employees
- Suit up as the Stockton Heat mascot for select appearances, if needed
- Assist other departments’ employees when requested by the Manager of Community Relations
QUALIFICATIONS;
- Able to receive college credits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Photoshop skills a plus)
- Strong creative, organizational, written and verbal skills
- Must be able to work In a team environment
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to work flexible hours Including nights and weekends (able to work around school schedule)
TIME:
- All Stockton Heat home games (October through April and potentially playoffs)
- Minimum of 10 office hours per week (able to work around school schedule)
