POSITION: MARKETING PARTNERSHIPS UNPAID STUDENT INTERN

This is an unpaid, 20 hour per week internship with the Stockton Heat AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, This position is for college credit, and includes practical experience in the corporate sales and services field. There will be educational training regarding sales, customer service, Industry best practices, and operational aspects of a professional athletic organization. This is NON-PAID internship, A successful completion of the internship does not guarantee a subsequent paid employment opportunity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn to review assigned sponsorship accounts and confirm that said accounts are given service with professionalism and attention to detail
- Assist in creating proposals, proof of performance reviews, and reports as assigned
- Learn how to assess and understand client objectives and goals to create tailored partnership proposals
- Assist in creating internal checklists to ensure all client needs are being met
- Assist in creating new business opportunities through connecting with prospective clients via cold-calling, networking, and setting appointments
- Learn and implement the entire sales process: Prospecting, setting a meeting, selling the product, finalizing agreement, executing deliverables, and routine follow-ups
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivating and professional
- Ability to prioritize and multitask In a fast-paced environment
- Strong networking skills
- Ability to problem solve creatively
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Sports Marketing or Management, Business, Communications or other related field preferred
Desire to learn and understand the process of successful corporate partnerships, activation, and sales strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar
