1. HEAT INDEX
It’s been a week since the Stockton Heat hit the ice, but the club will look to pick up where they left off as they bring a three-game win streak and four-game point streak into Saturday’s showdown with the Colorado Eagles. In the Heat’s last action, Stockton bested Bakersfield by a 4-2 final, erasing a pair of deficits in a Saturday win. Tonight’s game is the first of a weekend double-header for the Heat on home ice.
2. THIS, THAT, THE OTHER
THIS… Stockton comes into tonight’s game on rested legs, having played only four games to date, one of only six AHL teams with the limited workload. The Heat have not seen game action in a week, while the Colorado Eagles are playing in their third game in three cities in four nights. It will be seen how much juice the visiting Eagles have left as Saturday’s game hits the late stages. THAT… There are rude welcomes, then there’s what Stockton has done to Colorado since the Eagles joined the AHL in 2018-19. Stockton has dominated the all-time series to the tune of wins in 10 and points in 11 of 14 all-time matchups, the Heat carrying a 10-3-0-1 record against Colorado heading into the first of eight meetings this season. THE OTHER… Stockton will look continue its even-strength dominance heading into Saturday’s game, the Heat owning a plus-7 (9-2) scoring differential at 5-on-5 play this season. Both teams have struggled down a skater this season, the Heat ranking 27th in the AHL while killing 73.3-percent of opponent power plays while the Eagles are last in the league at just 63-percent.
3. PLAYERS TO WATCH
Heat – Glenn Gawdin
The centerman has three assists through two games with the Heat this season and will look to light the lamp Saturday against the Eagles. Gawdin had five points (2g, 3a) in six games against the Eagles in 2019-20, the last season the two clubs clashed.
Eagles – Dylan Sikura
Sikura is on fire entering Saturday’s game, coming in with back-to-back three point outings including a trio of helpers Friday night in San Jose. Sikura has eight points with two goals through four games this season.

It was great in training camp, from then on, and I think the team has come together really well, meshed really well over the last month.” – Byron Froese on this year’s Heat team
