Bakersfield, Calif. – The Stockton Heat got a late goal to swing momentum in their favor from Matt Frattin, but a quick answer from the Bakersfield Condors to restore their two-goal deficit put an end to the comeback as the Heat fall 3-1 Saturday night at Rabobank Arena. Frattin’s tally gives the forward a goal in back-to-back games, but Bakersfield forwards Anton Lander and Jesse Puljujarvi had a goal and an assist each to lead the Condors past the Heat. Stockton returns home for a quick turnaround Sunday, as they host the Texas Stars for a 4:00 p.m. puck drop.

“I thought [Bakersfield] was hungrier for the first two periods. They won a lot of the puck battles in the dirty areas and that was the difference early on.” – Head Coach Ryan Huska on what he felt was a slow start for the Heat tonight.
“When you give a goal up that quickly, it can take the wind out of the sails for sure. That’s a situation where we allowed a guy to the front of the net. That shouldn’t happen.” – Coach Huska on the third goal for Bakersfield that came quickly after Frattin’s goal.
“We need to play the way we did in the third tonight if we want to win. There’s a certain style we need to play with if we want to have success. We need to be more competitive tomorrow night.” – Coach Huska on the focus heading into Sunday against Texas.
