"Get to know the goalies, get to know the systems, the coaches, and all that good stuff."

The the newest member of the Stockton Heat coaching staff isn’t wasting any time in Calgary working with the Flames goaltending prospects. Tyler Parsons, Dustin Wolf and Artyom Zagidulin round out the goaltending position for this week’s Rookie Camp roster. Spear worked with the Zagidulin prior to earning a shutout on Saturday night in his first shutout in North America.
The other two netminders are both American goaltenders, fitting for Spear who joined the Flames organization via the USA Hockey Development Program. Speer spent two years with USA Hockey as the National Goaltending Coach, overseeing the goalies for the US National Team Development Program for their Under-17 and Under-18 teams. Prior to USA Hockey, Speer spent four seasons as the Goaltending Coach for the Allen Americans in the ECHL.
