Stockton, Calif. – The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL’s Calgary Flames, announce that goaltender Mason McDonald has been assigned to the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. In addition, goaltender Joel Rumpel has been released from his professional tryout.
McDonald made his AHL debut on April 15, helping Stockton earn a point and end the regular season with points in 11-straight games. McDonald joins the Thunder in the midst of their first round series against the Manchester Monarchs, which continues into Game 5 tomorrow night.
The Heat kick off the Pacific Division Semifinals series against the San Jose Barracuda in San Jose tonight at 7:00 p.m. with Game 2 taking place at the SAP Center on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
The Heat host the Barracuda for Game 3 on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. where the first 2,500 fans receive a red Heat Rally Towel courtesy of Chase Chevrolet.
