Heat Unveil 2018-19 Specialty Jerseys
2018-19 SEASON ROLL-OUT CONTINUES WITH THE TEAM’S FIVE SPECIALTY JERSEYS
STOCKTON, CALIF. – The Stockton Heat, proud AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames, today unveiled the team’s five specialty jerseys for the upcoming season including the Stockton Heat Hockey Fights Cancer, Military Appreciation, Super Hero, Mardi Gras and Stockton Ports Baseball jerseys.
“Our goal was to balance our specialty jerseys for returning fan-favorite nights and also develop brand new, never-before-seen creative jerseys that would excite our fans,” Heat Director of Retail and Promotions Rob Cvetan said. “We’re really excited about the looks of our new specialty jerseys and know that Heat fans will share in our excitement for the team to wear these on the ice and bid on these to add to their collection!”
The first specialty jersey will be worn by the Heat during Stockton Heat Hockey Fights Cancer presented by Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center on Saturday, November 3. The predominantly white jersey will feature traditional striping patterns featuring lavender and black across the center of the jersey behind the logo crest along with the sleeves and bottom of the jersey. The shoulder patches will feature the Heat Hockey Fights Cancer ribbon along with the Hockey Fights Cancer logo used by the NHL and AHL, while the chest will feature the Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center logo.
On Saturday, December 8 the team will celebrate the brave men and women who protect and serve our country during Military Appreciation Night by wearing the second specialty jersey of the year. The desert camouflage jersey features a stylized version of the Heat’s alternate “S” logo and carries over the Heat’s traditional black, white and yellow striping pattern throughout the jersey. The back of the jersey will once again feature patches as a tribute to the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard while the shoulders feature a Prisoner of War – Missing in Action patch along with the US flag.
For the first time, the Heat will celebrate Super Hero Night on Saturday, January 12 wearing Superman jerseys, designed in conjunction with Costa Mesa based Hockey Lifestyle brand Violent Gentlemen, depicts the mid-transformation of Clark Kent in his work clothes, to Superman in his suit and cape with the Heat alternate “S” taking place of the traditional Superman “S”. The jersey will also feature the Violent Gentlemen Hockey Club logo as a lapel pin and cufflinks on Kent’s jacket.
“As fans of the sport first we are beyond excited to design this jersey in conjunction with the Stockton Heat,” Violent Gentlemen Hockey Club COO Mike Hammer said. “We’ve been sharpening our design skillset for years and will be proud to hang this one from our rafters!”
Then on Friday, March 1, the Heat celebrate Mardi Gras night for the first time with specialty jerseys that are straight out of Bourbon Street! The purple, green and yellow jerseys may be the most colorful Heat jersey of all-time, and for the first time, will feature the team’s mascot, Frankie the Firebird, complete with his Mardi Gras jester hat and mask on the chest of the jersey. There are Mardi Gras beads around the neck of the jersey along with the striping on the sleeves and a stylized fleur-de-lis adorns both shoulders. The city’s name, Stockton, can be found on the bottom of the frontside of the jersey in a fun, zany font.
The final jersey worn by the Heat this season will be on our Second Annual Stockton Ports Baseball Night on Sunday, March 24. Unlike last season’s jersey which reimagined what a Heat jersey would look like as a baseball uniform, this season the jersey plays on what a Stockton Ports hockey jersey would look like with the Ports popular Five O’Clock Dock alternate logo. Five O’Clock Dock turned his asparagus baseball bat into an asparagus hockey stick and shows off his hockey puck and Heat tattoos off while also sporting the Heat colors. The jersey, which is predominantly grey, also reimagines the Ports secondary anchor logo, which will be on one shoulder while the Stockton Heat wordmark logo will be on the other (See Attachment 5).
All five jerseys will be available for sale both during and after each home game they are worn through silent and live auctions.
