Stockton Heat defenseman Oliver Kylington has been named to the preliminary roster for Team Sweden for the 2017 World Junior Championships starting on December 26.
The tournament, one of the most prestigious in hockey, is played by players under the age of 20 at the top of their game, two prerequisites that Oliver has down pat, second on the team among defenseman in points (9), first among Heat defenseman in goals (3) and is tied for fourth on the Heat in plus/minus (plus-6).
The 19-year-old is one of one of eight defencemen vying for a roster spot at the tournament. Sweden is expected to make three cuts before the annual event kicks off on Dec. 26 in Toronto, ON and Montreal, QC.
