Hartzell Perfect in Relief Appearance but Reign Win

Eric Hartzell stopped all 17 shots he faced in a relief appearance the day he was signed to a pro tryout with the Stockton Heat, however Jordan Samuels-Thomas' hat-trick and Peter Budaj's 38 saves pushed Ontario over the Heat 4-0.

The Heat have brought in goalie Eric Hartzell on a pro tryout contract. He will be available in tonight's game against the Ontario Reign which starts at 7:30 p.m.

Lomberg's Hot Start with Thunder Gives Confidence

Ryan Lomberg has had a busy offseason, signing his first pro deal with the Heat, participating at the Young Stars Classic, and attending more than a couple training camps. After starting the season with 4 goals and an assist with the Adirondack Thunder, he finds himself back in Stockton, but his time in Adirondack, while brief, certainly helped boost the young man's confidence.

Flames Assign Kanzig to Calgary Hitmen of the WHL

The Calgary Flames have assigned 20-year-old defenseman Keegan Kanzig to the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL for his overage year of junior hockey. Kanzig played in one game for the Heat, a 1-0 win over the Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas.
