“Execution has to be a little bit better. Again, it is still early in the season. You are starting to nail down the systems and get on the same page and stuff. Things are going to go wrong out there, and it was one of those nights where they capitalized on every chance they got. We did a lot of good things out there. The fact that we didn’t roll over in the third and didn’t go to bed. We kept fighting until the end. There are a lot of good things to take away from tonight.” – Curtis Lazar on the team’s effort.
“It was pretty big for us. Anytime you get a 5-on-3 you have to at least have a good look out there. [Graovac] did a great job finding me on the backdoor. It was skate to stick. I totally forgot about the stick part and just went off my skate and in.” – Lazar on his goal to get the Heat started
“There is a lot of enthusiasm. Guys are coming to work every single day regardless if it is a practice or a game. Guys step in that locker room and put their best foot forward. It is a easy to group to get along with. We are pretty young. It makes for a lot of fun. If we keep going the same way, I like where we are at.” – Lazar on what this team is all about in Stockton
“The guys battled back well. They showed some pride in their game. I think that we needed to play the first two periods the way we played the third. Good to see them to continue on and find a way to turn the tides, but it is important to learn that we have to start the game that way.” – Coach Cail MacLean on the team’s work ethic
“Kerby is a player in that area, underneath the hashmarks is very good. He is courageous in there, he is timely. He is a guy that is very competitive. He was instrumental for us in turning that game around. That is something we are looking for him to bring with that good game under the dots.” – MacLean on Rychel’s game
“We are still developing our identity with how we play. We have to make sure we get down to business on not just our structure, but the details of our game, which were lacking this weekend… we saw that when we didn’t have the structure against this team they pull you apart quickly.” – MacLean on getting ready for next Saturday against San Jose
