Rittich to Play at World Championship
The Flames will have another representative at the 2018 IIHF World Championship with David Rittich joining the Czech Republic at the tournament.
Rittich split the year between the NHL and AHL, posting a 8-6-3 record with a 2.92 GAA and a .904 save percentage with the Flames and a 7-5-0 record with a 3.18 GAA and a .889 save percentage with the Heat.
Prior to joining the Flames organization, Rittich played in the Czech Repubic with HC Dukla Jihlava and BK Mlada Boleslav. Rittich signed a one-year, two-way contract with the club on Jun. 13, 2016, posting a 15-11-4 record with a 2.27 GAA and a .924 save percentage with the Stockton Heat. He made his NHL debut on Apr. 8 in San Jose, playing one period against the Sharks.
Rittich followed up his first regular season in North America with a 2-1 record with a 2.88 GAA and .917 save percentage in the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs.
