Wilson Earns Team Honor With Lethbridge Hurricanes
STOCKTON, Calif. – Defenseman Koletrane Wilson, signed by the Heat to an AHL deal starting with the 2020-21 season, has earned the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes’ Top Defenseman honors for the 2019-20 campaign.
Wilson recorded 33 points (8g,25a) and a plus-28 rating in 62 games while wearing the ‘A’ as an alternate captain with the Hurricanes this season.
“We are very, very proud of Koletrane and everything that he accomplished as a Lethbridge Hurricane,” said Hurricanes head coach Brent Kisio in a team release. “When he came in, he worked hard and got better and better while progressing through our program and he is a strong example that if you work hard and do things right, good things can happen.”
“I’d like to thank all of the coaches and staff that chose me for this award,” said Wilson in a recorded statement. “I’m beyond honored and grateful to receive this award. With saying that, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of all of my teammates. Boys, I owe it all to you.”
Heat defenseman Andrew Nielsen won the same award in the 2015-16 season.
